Navoi Theater

The Navoi Theater is the country wide opera theater in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. In 1929, amateurs of live performance-ethnographic organization led by way of M. Kari-Yakubov became hooked up and later based the expert theatre. In 1939 it become renamed to the Uzbek State Opera and Ballet Theatre, and in March 1948 it became united with Russian theatre and called as the State Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Alisher Navoi. Later, in 1959 the theatre received the fame of Academic theatre and in 1966 – the reputation of Bolshoi Theatre.

Designed by way of Alexey Shchusev, the constructing of the theater turned into constructed in 1942-1947 and became opened to the general public in November, 1947, celebrating the 500th anniversary of the birth of Alisher Navoi. During 1945-47, the Japanese prisoners of struggle participated in the building creation below forced labor. The theater has a potential of 1,400 spectators.
