Noah Ogle Place
About Noah Ogle Place
Noah "Bud" Ogle and his better half Cindy initially settled in what is presently Gatlinburg in 1879. On their 400 section of land cultivate they constructed the lodge that still stands close downtown Gatlinburg. Situated on Airport Road close to the beginning of the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail, the Ogle lodge is an awesome place to visit to get a look at what pioneer life resembled in the Appalachian Mountains.
In 1977, the Ogle property was added to the National Register of Historic Places and it's at present kept up by the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Ogle lodge is what was known as a "saddlebag" lodge, which implies there were two single-pen lodges that were joined by a typical stack.
