About Larrabee State Park

Larrabee State Park is a freely possessed diversion zone situated on Samish Bay, six miles south of the city of Bellingham, Washington. The 2,683-section of land state stop offers angling, sculling, and outdoors and in addition mountain trails for climbing and biking. It is overseen by the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission. The recreation center turned into Washington's first state stop after Bellingham agent Charles Larrabee gave 20 sections of land of land to the state in 1914. Following Larrabee's demise soon thereafter, his dowager saw the exchange through to consummation and the recreation center was formalized in 1915.
At first called Chuckanut State Park, the recreation center's name was changed to Larrabee in 1923. The Larrabee family gave another 1500 sections of land in 1937, with neighboring landowners making extra commitments. The park highlights a short stroll down to a stone shoreline with sees onto Samish Bay and the San Juan Islands. For longer outings, there are 13 miles of biking trails and 15 miles of climbing trails. Picnicking, drifting, saltwater angling, sailboarding, and beachcombing are among the other recreational choices. Two mountain lakes, Fragrance Lake and Lost Lake, offer freshwater looking for climbers. Must visit the park with your family and friends.
