About JQAY House

The JQAY House is one of the most seasoned surviving structures in Washington County and is the final over the ground asset related with the cedar process for which the group was named. John Quincy Adams Young and his family ventured to every part of the Oregon Trail in the late 1840s, settling in the Oregon Territory. He fabricated his notable house in 1863 on about a half-section of land beside Cedar Mill Creek. In 2005, THPRD procured it, and the half-section of land of land whereupon the house sits, in a property trade concurrence with Cedar Mill Bible Church. John Quincy Adams Young and his better half Elizabeth Young settled in the territory in 1862 and assembled a log lodge. In 1869, they assembled another home, trailed by another bigger one inherent 1873.
