About Great Bay National Wildlife Refuge

This National Wildlife Refuge is situated along the eastern shore of New Hampshire's Great Bay. The territory was once in the past piece of weapons stockpiling zone at Pease Air Force Base, which was shut in 1991. An assortment of rich natural life environments from uplands to untamed waters can be found all through the shelter.

Both Great Bay National Wildlife Refuge, and the Karner Blue butterfly easement in Concord, New Hampshire, which secures essential living space for this governmentally imperiled species, are overseen by the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge in Newbury port, Massachusetts. The shelter has a surface territory of 1,116 sections of land 4.52 km².
