About Beeston and Peckforton Castles
The historical backdrop of Beeston Castle extends back over 4,000 years to its roots as a Bronze Age slope post. Roosted high on a rough bluff, the stronghold ruins are amusing to investigate and offer mind blowing perspectives of the encompassing wide open, the distance to the Pennines and Wales. A much more up to date stronghold to look at is close-by Peckforton Castle; a medieval-style château worked in 1850 and made well known as the set for Kevin Costner's Robin Hood. Every year it attracts many visitors, it is famous among locals and visitors for its amazing mesmerizing beauty.
