American West Heritage Center

The American West Heritage Center is in Utah’s magnificent Cache Valley, and just 70 miles north of Salt Lake City. First of all, there is a small museum that shows a few historical scenes in the visitor’s center. There is a pioneer display and a mining display. Don’t miss the buffalo in the field on the way out of the museum. The hands-on activities are the real fun of the American West Heritage Center. American West Heritage Center property is divided into three sections.

1. The first area is considered the farm area. Here several ladies and their children is in authentic dress and baking fresh rolls.
2. The second area is a small mining town where the boys were allowed to pan for nuggets and also a small trail in the shady mining town by a small stream.
3. The third area is the pioneer area which also includes some Native American and Mountain Man sites.
