About Warwickshire Yeomanry Museum

The Warwickshire Yeomanry was shaped in 1794 to safeguard the United Kingdom against attack by the French amid the Napoleonic Wars. In 1957 the Regiment amalgamated with The Queen's Own Worcestershire Hussars.
For the duration of the life of the Regiment its individuals took after ordinary regular citizen occupations in peace time and willfully surrendered their extra time at week-finishes, nighttimes and for two week's yearly camp every year to prepare as fighters. The Regiment presented with unique excellence amid the Boer War and in both World Wars.
Amid the First World War the Regiment presented with unique excellence at Gallipoli and participated in General Allenby's battle in Palestine. Both the Warwickshire Yeomanry and Queen's Own Worcestershire Hussars are deified in Lady Butler's canvas of the last exemplary unsupported rangers charge of the Great War known as The Affair of Huj, the work of art can be seen in the Museum.
