About St. Josephs Catholic Church

In spite of the fact that it was shut to people in general in 2001, St. Joseph's Catholic Church is as yet a standout amongst the most discussed spots of love in Northern Ireland.

It is situated in Mariner town, the 130-year-old recorded building was closed by the Catholic Church as a result of a declining gathering and it sits at the core of a territory vigorously redeveloped in the course of recent years.

The congregation, known as "the sanctuary on the quays", was worked in 1880 on Sovereigns Dock Road.

It turned into a position of comfort for four ages of Mariner town occupants and nearly the same number of remote mariners, as it rose to command the dockside horizon.

Life for a large portion of the inhabitants in the affectionate group, which saw Protestants and Catholics living one next to the other, was extreme and Mariner town turned out to be firmly connected to the exchange union development.
