About Barra Hall Park

It appeared on 20 December 1923 when the then Urban District Council UDC of Hayes purchased the Hall and its grounds from Ms Ethel Penfold for £5,700 keeping in mind the end goal to utilize it as a town lobby. Later adjustments by the UDC brought the aggregate to £7,000. The Barra Hall building was authoritatively opened as town lobby on 23 February 1924 and its grounds turned into a metropolitan stop with play area, tennis courts and a paddling pool opened by music corridor star Jessie Matthews. In 1965, Hayes UDC was incorporated into the London Borough of Hillingdon LBH and the corridor was in the end supplanted by the new Civic Center in Uxbridge as fundamental gathering office.

The Barra Hall building was initially a lodge, some time ago known as Grove House. In the late eighteenth century it was home to Alderman Harvey Combe, chose Lord Mayor of London in 1799. It passed proprietorship and in 1871 was purchased by Robert Reid. Reid was a barker and surveyor and guaranteed to slide from the Reids of Barra. Subsequent to growing and refacing the building he changed its name to Barra Hall in 1875. Armed force Cavalry were positioned here amid World War I. On 6 October 2005, a remodeled Barra Hall was opened as a Sure Start kids' inside.
