Olten
About Olten
Olten is a town in the canton of Solothurn in Switzerland and is the capital of the same name district. The Alten's railway station is within 30 minutes of the train from Zurich, Bern, Basel and Lucerne, and is a railway hub in Switzerland. A significant amount of artifacts of Magdalionian 16'000 to 14'000 years ago near the ogate have been excavated. Dosage has also been found for mesolithic and neolithic, but there is no trace of a settlement, and no ceramic was found; Dating for Bronze and Iron Age is also limited. There was a Wisconsin on site during the Roman era.
The name of the settlement is not known, but it appears to be of a certain significance, possibly indicating the presence of a bridge across the river AR. The Roman settlement was probably destroyed in the later third century. At the end of the third century, a fort was built on the bridge-head on the southeast corner of the surrounding area. This fort was abandoned in the 4th century, and was later replaced by a large palace, compared to the late Roman forts protecting the crossing of RE in Solothurn and Brugge. You can come here and explore this pace.
