About Slottsskogen

Slottsskogen is a 137 hectares massive park located in critical Gothenburg, Sweden. When Gothenburg was based inside the seventeenth century, the place of Slottsskogen turned into a forest that belonged to the antique Älvsborg Fortress. In the 1880s the city had grown to the location of the wooded area, and merchant August Kobb took initiative to create the city park, which has the man or woman of an English garden with lawns and trees. Slottsskogen has a huge variety of activities:

there's Slottsskogens Djurpark, a zoo with Swedish animals, a pond with seals and penguins, a Swedish heritage place with small cottages from different counties, a playground for soccer, softball, frisbee golf and so on. Slottskogen is also the home of the Way Out West Festival, which happens annually. In August 2014, a memorial to the closing live performance of the band Broder Daniel throughout Way Out West 2008 was raised in Slottsskogen.
