Know India Programme By MTDC Will Emphasis On Promoting Tourism Industry

India is a culturally diverse country that has lot of secret hidden in history. For providing an opportunity for research students and travelers from various countries, Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation has decided to host 35th Know India Programme 2016-17 from May 5-29, 2016. The emphasis is on creating awareness among visitors and students on different facts of the origin and progress of India. In this program, it is expected that students and professionals from countries like South Africa, Mauritius, Malaysia, Netherlands, Myanmar, Israel, Egypt, Sri Lanka and Trinidad & Tobago will be participating. They will visit various villages, historical sites, industrial sites and will participate in cultural programmes that are designed for them.

As per Valsa Nair Singh, IAS, Principal Secretary, Tourism & Culture, Government of Maharashtra, this 35th Know India Programme will promote tourism in country and will bring new tourist spots in the state. He added that visitors would have an opportunity to experience firsthand pleasure of visiting various historical, technological, cultural tourist sites and academic sites of the state. This will help in building decent bilateral ties with foreign countries for tourism industry and opportunity to promote tourism in countries like USA, UK, Japan, Germany and Canada.
