Incredible Facts Of Mayan Civilization Getting Unfolded

1. The Mayans

The Mayans

The Mayans! How they lived and why their civilization suddenly collapsed or who were the Mayans is the question popping amidst the scientific community. An aerial view into the highlands of El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Yucatan and Honduras contemporary Mayans still practice many of the same rituals that were performed by their ancestors 4,000 years ago. Apart from this, there are many interesting facts that have been discovered about the Mayan civilization.

Human expectation is startled with the fact that the Mayans were noted for elaborate and highly decorated ceremonial architecture, including temple-pyramids, palaces and observatories, all built without the help of metal tools! Moreover, few could imagine in the wildest of their dreams that the Mayans perfected the most complex form of calligraphy and the intricacies of hieroglyphs unique to the western hemisphere, having close resemblance with the Egyptians.

They were masters of mathematics and astronomy with an astounded level of accuracy. The ancient Mayans knew something that we don’t! Mayan cosmology is minutely bound to time and their codification of a fractal, cyclical conception of motion radiating outward from the galactic centre to Earth raises eyebrows with open mouth ...The Mayan calendar is a maze which deepens the more one tries codifying it.

In 755 AD, Mayan Priests prophesied that the total solar eclipse of July 11, 1991 would alter events for humankind through cosmic awareness and earth changes. Shortly after 1:00 PM, on July 11, 1991, the prophecy seemingly began to unfurl. The calendar is also an incredibly accurate map of the cycles of the cosmos. As per the calculation the Mayan Long Calendar speaks of the end of one cycle of time moving into the next on 21 Dec 2012.As per few assumptions, this might be the end of the world but if we interpret it the Mayan way, it would be perhaps the dawn of an age of enlightment and knowledge. Let’s wait and watch!
