Airlines Announces No International Flight From Chandigarh This Summer

The passengers of Chandigarh will be disappointed by the news that there will be no international flights this summer. The reason behind this decision is unavailability of the proper infrastructure at the Chandigarh airport. IndiGo airline said that the airline is keen to start the international fligts; however, it will take at least a month to frame proper plans of the scheduled flights. Further, the High Court has also indicated Air India to provide the detailed proposal of its combo flight to the international destinations by July 20. The airlines said that required infrastructure such as CAT-IIIB system is not available at the airport that facilitates flights even at zero visibility along with an expansion of runway by 10cm.

Hence, High Court has directed Airports Authority of India and Defence Ministry to hold the meeting sooner and consider meeting the proposed demands from airlines. Thus, it is clear that airlines will take more than a month to schedule the international flights from this airport. Thus, the final decision was taken that there will be no international flights this summer by any airline. Thus, emphasis is made to meet the demands and provide right infrastructures for airlines to operate.
