About Gampaha Botanical Garden

Gampaha Botanical Garden, otherwise called Henarathgoda Botanical Garden is arranged in the suburb of Gampaha. It was set up in 1876 by the British to lead investigates colorful financial plants, for example, Rubber, and investigate plant riches and advancement of economy in the state. The primary imported elastic tree to Sri Lanka was first planted in this garden and it was the main seedlings of Brazilian elastic tree at any point planted in Asia.

The trees bloomed in 1880 and from the following year Rubber seeds were disseminated all through the nation and some other British provinces in South and Southeast Asia.
