About Marado

Marado or Mara Island is an island 8 km 5.0 mi off the south shore of Jeju, in southernmost South Korea, having a zone of 0.3 km2 0.12 sq mi. It is home to around 90 individuals, and has for some time been known for its populace being made out of solid ladies and submissive men. As per a Choson Ilbo article distributed by Lee Kyu-tae in 1967, the island was first involved by a lady named Kim Seong-goodness and her siblings in 1880. As a poor worker with no land to cultivate, Kim Seong-goodness chose to move to the island when her dad said the island on his deathbed. So Kim left Jeju with her two siblings, cultivating devices, and a few seeds. They needed to circle the island around three times, since they couldn't discover a place to dock their watercraft. After around 10 years, they were joined by two stranded anglers from Torishima, in the Kingdom of Ryukyu.
