About Gyeongsangnam-do
Gyeongsangnam-do is a province within the southeast of South Korea. The provincial capital is at Changwon. It is adjoining to the important metropolitan middle and port of Busan. There is UNESCO World Heritage Site Haeinsa, a Buddhist temple that houses the Tripitaka Koreana and draws many tourists. Automobile and petrochemical factories are largely concentrated along the southern part of the province, extending from Ulsan thru Busan, Changwon, and Jinju. Before 1895, the place corresponding to trendy-day Gyeongsangnam-do turned into a part of Gyeongsang Province, one of the Eight Provinces of Korea in the course of the Joseon Dynasty. In 1895, southern Gyeongsang turned into replaced by means of the districts of Jinju within the west and Dongnae within the east.

In 1995, Busan have become a Metropolitan City, and Ulsan separated from Gyeongsangnam-do to turn out to be a Metropolitan City in 1997.
