Kondrovo

Kondrovo is a town and the authoritative focal point of Dzerzhinsky District in Kaluga Oblast, Russia, situated on the Shanya River a tributary of the Ugra in the Oka's bowl, 40 kilometers or 25 mi northwest of Kaluga, the regulatory focus of the oblast. Inside the system of regulatory divisions, Kondrovo fills in as the managerial focal point of Dzerzhinsky District, to which it is straightforwardly subordinated. As a city division, the town of Kondrovo is consolidated inside Dzerzhinsky Municipal District as Kondrovo Urban Settlement.

Initially known as Kondyrevo, it was a votchina of Dmitry Kondyrin, a Russian voyevoda who was conceded these grounds for his administration amid the second war with the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in 1500– 1501.
