Orbeni

Orbeni is a commune in Bacau County, Romania. It consists of villages, Orbeni and Scurta. Legend has it that a girl who turned into nearly blind oarba" in Romanian, head of a huge circle of relatives from the settlement Radaciei's mouth" and "Dacian's head", took her family and migrated via the valley of a river toward the Ciortolom's peak. The Oarba family individuals have reduce down the forests to construct houses, for farm animals breeding and for agriculture. The descendants of this girl took her call calling themselves the followers of Oarba, and residents of neighbouring villages referred to as them Orbenari.

The creek crossing the valley acquired the name of individuals who possessed it - Orbenarilor Creek. Orbeni is situated within the Pietricica Ridge of the Subcarpathian Plateau, an area of hills included with forests of beech, oak, maple, acacia, and more these days fir and spruce bushes. The Siret River and its valley deceive the east. It neighbours four other communes: Parava to the north, Gura Văii to the west, Valea Seacă to the south, and Corbasca to the east.
