About Church of San Francisco
The Church of Sao Francisco is one of the fascinating religious edifices in Porto.
The last Gothic point of interest in Porto is this assembly completed in 1425. Wander around to the apse to think about the long lancet windows and subsequently rush toward the guideline outside where an extravagant passage is created by a lovely rose window.
The internal parts were adjusted from the 1500s to the 1700s and have unquestionably the most extravagant plated woodwork you could need to see.
The old Gothic vaults, dividers and segments are disguised by erratically sliced sheets addressing feathered animals, seraphs and foliage.
Explore the interior and discover other prominent features, such as the white stone statue of St. Francis. Once you’ve admired the more obvious elements of the interior, visit the small Chapel da Arvore de Jesse where you will find a series of intricate wood carvings of religious scenes.
