About Olesnica
Olesnica is a metropolis in Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south western Poland. It is the administrative seat of Olesnica County and also of the agricultural district of Gmina Olesnica, even though it isn't part of the territory of the latter the town being an city gmina in its personal proper. The town is famed for its big 16th century fortress which has previously been the seat of numerous dukes and lords. The fortress's internal courtyard arcades a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture are iconic inside the place.
The Piast fortress with a nearby abbey and buying and selling agreement become first referred to in an 1189 deed. From the 13th century onwards, the location became largely settled by Germans in the direction of the Ostsiedlung. From 1320, the previous castellany served because the residence of the Piast duke Conrad I of Olesnica his son Duke Conrad II the Gray also inherited Kozle. The Duchy of Olesnica, a Bohemian fief due to the fact that 1327, was ruled from the city until the 1492 loss of life of Duke Conrad X the White, final of the local Piasts.
