About Red Rocks
This astonishing rock course of action was made when an outcrop of old volcanic cushion magma was introduced in more energetic greywacke, close by red and green siltstone.
The Red Rocks Scientific Reserve was made in 1972 in the wake of creating open stress over quarrying in the region. On Sundays, the entryway is closed and the course is open for walkers and mountain bikers.
The zone was passed by early M?ori for its calculating and bull kelp to store point in, however, isn't acknowledged to have been a settlement site. Diverse M?ori legends illuminate the red coloration.
