Doorwerth Castle

Doorwerth Castle is a medieval castle situated on the river Rhine near the city of Arnhem, Netherlands. The first stronghold, most likely wooden, is first said in 1260 when it was assaulted and consumed to the ground, after which it was remade in stone. In 1280, this second stronghold was again blockaded and this time the bailey was burned to the ground. This manor likely comprised of a straightforward lobby keep, two stories high with 1.20 meter thick dividers, and included an encompassing channel which was encouraged by the close-by waterway Rhine.
