About Church of the Holy Heart of Jesus

The Church of the Holy Heart of Jesus is the main Roman Catholic church in the city of Podgorica, Montenegro. It was worked in 1969, supplanting the downtown area church which was decimated amid the bombarding of Podgorica in World War II. The congregation is a one of a kind case of brutalist engineering, and is situated in Konik neighborhood. The church was worked in 1969, three years after the reestablishment of the city's Catholic area.
It was planned by prof. Ing. Zvonimir Vrkljan of the Faculty of Architecture, University of Zagreb, Croatia, and was worked to look like a ship. It was sanctified on June 29, 1969, by Aleksandar Tokic, the then-Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Bar. The congregation has a 40-meter high unattached chime tower, with solid winding staircases. From the dull inside, a 25-meter high pinnacle sticks up, separating light to enlighten the primary sacrificial table. Its exterior was never wrapped up.
