Payar Island

Situated 35 km south of Langkawi, in the norther part of the straits of Melaka, the Payar Island is another attraction of Kedah in Malaysia. It is popular as a marine park that protects and preserve diverse marine lives. Visitors have the options of snorkeling and diving in here. Famous for coral reefs and diverse marine life and vegetation, the marine Park encompasses the islands of Payar, Lembu, Segantang and Kaca. 

There are many rare and endangered species of fishes and other marine organisms in the sanctuary. It has also been termed as coral garden for its bright and multi coloured soft corals. 

Besides, Payar islands also offer the holidayers to relax and picnic in the several Sandy beaches. There are hiking trails for the explorers and hikers. One can also indulge in feeding baby sharks for an offbeat adventure. There are gazebos, picnic tables, barbecue pits and restrooms.
