About Palazzo Regio

The Palazzo Regio, otherwise called Viceregio Viceroyal castle, is a noteworthy working in Cagliari, the antiquated living arrangement of the agent of the ruler of Sardinia amid the Aragonese, Spanish and Savoy mastery and now the seat of the Metropolitan City of Cagliari. It is situated in the recorded Castello area. The building had been initially worked in the fourteenth century and turned into the seat of the emissary since 1337, at the command of Peter IV of Aragon. Throughout the hundreds of years the building experienced a few adjustments and expansions.
Especially huge were the eighteenth century rebuilding efforts; in 1730, because of the Piedmontese engineers de Guibert and de Vincenti it was fabricated the fantastic staircase prompting the fundamental floor, the rooms of which were reestablished in 1735 by della Vallea. The west exterior, with the primary entrance in accordance with the staircase, was masterminded by 1769, as prove by the engraving on the window bezel entryway that opens onto the focal gallery.
In the vicinity of 1799 and 1815 the royal residence was the official home of the illustrious family and the court, in a state of banishment from Turin involved by Napoleon. In 1885 the royal residence progressed toward becoming property of the Province, who built up its delegate office and managed the rebuilding of the inside, keeping in mind the end goal to adjust to the new capacity. In 1893 started crafted by beautification on the Council room, by the perugian Domenico Bruschi for the frescoes and dell'Angeletti for the stuccos.
