About Gerenzano
Gerenzano is an Italian metropolis of 10,909 populations inside the province of Varese in Lombardy. It is placed about 25 km south east of the capital on the border with the provinces of Milan and Como. From Giranzanum, the Roman name of Gerenzano, the Via Varesina surpassed, linking Mediolanum with Luganum passing through Varese, for this reason the name of the street. Gerenzano followed the vicissitudes of the Seprio nation state for the duration of the middle Ages. The presence of a church is already attested in a record dated April 2, 712.
The presence of a church dedicated to Saint Peter is then indicated in an alternate settlement signed in March 932, confirmed at the give up of the 13th century within the Liber notitiae sanctorum Mediolani. At that point in Gerenzano there were six churches and perhaps even a 7th devoted to Sant Ambrogio, so that it will then be demolished and now not rebuilt, had a double willpower to San Martino, the bishop of Tours, and to San Brizio, his successor, even as the others were committed to San Vittore, San Paolo, San Nazaro and San Zenone to the church devoted to Saints Peter and Paul, the present day significant parish of the city, the title of provostural remains.
