About Sreevallabha Temple

Sreevallabha Temple is a highly orthodox Hindu Temple dedicated to Purusha as Lord Sreevallabhan, is one among the oldest and biggest Temples of Kerala and a major destination for devotees all over India for centuries. Situated in Thiruvalla city, this sea of universality is outstanding for its building glory and exceptional traditions that can be found in no different sanctuaries. The stone-wooden carvings and fine wall painting canvases inside the sanctuary merit seeing. Being one among 108 Divya Desams, Sreevallabha sanctuary has been celebrated by Als and numerous other antiquated works.

It is thought to be the vallabha kshethram said in Garuda Purana and Matsya Purana. Kathakali is played day by day in the sanctuary as an offering, pushing it to the best in India as far as spots where Kathakali is arranged in biggest number of days out of each year. Master Vishnu showed up here as Sreevallabhan for sage Durvasa and Khandakarnan. Satisfied by petitions of an old Brahmin woman Sreevallabhan manifested as a brahmachari and slaughtered the evil spirit Thokalaasuran.

Later the diety of Sreevallabhan adored by Lakshmi and Krishna has been introduced in the sanctuary in 59 BC. From that point till date, the sanctuary takes after its own love convention that is known to be taken after no place else yet. Sage Durvasa and Saptarishi are said to achieve the sanctuary each midnight for adoring the Lord. The sanctuary had administered one of the greatest instructive organizations in antiquated time and intensely added to the social and instructive improvements of Kerala.
