About Roshan Gate

This gate is positioned to the north of Jalna gate or Khas gate. It is bigger in size and stature in comparison to Jalna gate. Roshan gate is said to had been named after Aurangezeb’s sister Roshanara to whom the emperor become plenty attached and she remained his favorite pal and advisor. The monument is listed beneath State Protected Monuments of Maharashtra as compiled by way of Archaeological Survey of India. Aurangabad is known as the "City of Gates".
