Powai Lake is an synthetic lake, situated in Mumbai, inside the Powai valley, wherein a Powai village with a cluster of huts existed. The town suburb known as Powai shares its name with the lake. Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, one of the superior institutions of science and technology in India, is positioned to the east of the lake. Another well-known organization, the National Institute of Industrial Engineering, is also placed close to the lake.
Housing complexes and luxurious resorts are developed everywhere in the lake outer edge. Population across the lake has as a consequence extensively increased over the years.
