About Pocharam Dam & Wildlife Sanctuary
Pocharam Dam and Wildlife Sanctuary is arranged in Medak region of Telangana. This is a perfect visitor place to visit from Hyderabad and spend couple of hours. Pocharam Dam and Wildlife Sanctuary is spread more than 130 sq km. It was a previous chasing ground of the Nizams of Hyderabad. The haven gets its name from the Pocharam Lake shaped after the development of Pocharam Dam on Alair waterway, a tributary of Manjira River it was Set up in the year 1952.
Wildlife includes here are Jaguar, Sloth Bear, Wild Boar, Cheetal, Sambar, Nilgai, Chowsingha, Chinkara, Hyena and Jackal are the fundamental attractions of the haven. The asylum is the country of different types of creatures and flying creatures. The stream Manjira is the principle waterway that adds life to the wilderness. Crocodile, new water turtles, Cobra and Marsh can be situated in this haven.
