The Lad Khan is a Temple in Aihole city,state of Karnataka, India. One of the temples that have remained here for the longest of times, the Lad Khan Temple is one of the most established in Aihole. The temple is devoted to Lord Shiva and is named after a Muslim Prince who dwelled here for a while.
With expressions of the human experience and sciences of building temples, not as developed amid the time this temple was worked, as they were later, the Chalukyas constructed the sanctuary in a Panchayat Hall style.
Originally committed to Vishnu, now the principle holy place houses a Shiva Linga with a Nandi. The temple was worked in a Panchayatana style, showing an early trial in temple development.
