Khedbrahma

Khedbrahma is a town and a taluka headquarter in Khedbrahma Taluka of Sabarkantha district, Gujarat, India. It is arranged on the banks of Harnav stream. The town is associated with fanciful history and has been traveler site for quite a long time. The eleventh century Brahma, Ambika and Pankhnath Mahadev sanctuaries are the most seasoned landmarks of the town. The town has two old stepwells, the Brahma stepwell and the Aditi stepwell.

It was under Parmaras, Chaulukyas and Pariharas before it went under Idar State in thirteenth century. Brahmakshetra Mahatmaya composed after tenth century, the jnati-purana of Khedaval Bhrahmins, is a central wellspring of the legendary history of the district. It has 18 parts. It was deciphered in Gujarati from Sanskrit in 1938. Ganpatishankar Shastri composed Puratan Brahmakshetra in 1938 which follows fanciful and abstract history of the locale in his book which is primarily in light of Brahmakshetra Mahatmaya.

Legendary accounts depicts that the place was related with Brahma and Bhrigu. Bhrigu had completed a few yajna penances here. The sanctuary remains of Shiva, Shakti and Surya edge of the town affirms it artifact. Brahmanotpattimartand notices Brahmakhetak town in south of Mount Abu. It likewise says Hiranya stream, juncture of two waterways and Brahma sanctuary lodging statues of Brahma and his two consorts.
