Khecheopalri Lake

Khecheopalri Lake is beautiful lake located near Khecheopalri village in west of Gangtok in the
West Sikkim district. Located 34 KM to the northwest of Pelling town. This lake is believed to be a
wish fulfilling lake sacred for both Buddhists and Hindus.Tthis lake is estimated to be 3500 years
old as said. The periphery of lake has the shape of a foot. The depth of water in the lake is like
3.2–11.2 metres with an average depth of 7.2 metres. The average maximum and minimum
temperatures recorded are 24 °C and 4 °C. There are small shops and road ends to the lake is
about ten to fifteen minutes walk through a tropical forest. Lake is very beautiful with pleasant
atmosphere. So,it is worth visiting this place once in life time.
