Chandrabadani is a mountain on the border of Tahsil and Pratapnagar. The Chandrabadani inhabit the well-known temple of Chandrabadani Devi. It is believed that the torso of Sati fell here and the weapons got scattered all around the place. It is also believed that Sati; wife of Siva, gave her lifestyle in Yajna, and Siva was carrying her burnt body to Kailash.
The Chandrabadani Temple is a temple of Shakti Piths and holy shrine of Goddess Sati. No idol of Goddess Sati is found in the main shrine but Shree Yantra curved on the flat stone is being worshipped. The Chandrabadani Temple delights the tourists with a beautiful view of Surkanda, Kedarnath and Badrinath peaks.
