About Birdwatching at Okhla

Advantageously settled on the banks of the waterway Yamuna, Okhla Bird Sanctuary is an asylum for naturalists and fledgling watchers. The region was proclaimed an asylum in 1990 and has in excess of 320 feathered creature species on record. Aside from this there are in excess of 188 plants, 10 sorts of bushes and 30 tree species in the recreation center.

This wetland appeared when the torrent at Okhla was built. The environment which comprises of prickly bushes and meadows, wound up home to a wide range of feathered creatures that had before been utilizing the region as passing transients. Okhla is an awesome place for birding consistently, however the winter months are best for transient species.
