At the mouth of the River Charente, the port town of La Rochelle had a fundamental influence in the first exportation of cognac via ocean in the mid thirteenth century. It's an excellent place to visit in Cognac, Nouvelle Aquitaine, France; and certainly worth over a day trip. The harbor is charming, and it's a genuine treat to see it at ious circumstances of the day. The hurrying around of the day time, the commotion that surpasses come night and nightfall, and the calm excite that encompasses the town during the evening time when all the day trippers have cleared out.
