About Kom el-Dikka
No one idea a significant part of the antiquated rubble hill in focal Alexandria until, in 1947, they chose to clear the site to clear a path for new lodging. Rather, the region is known as Kom el-Dikka "Mound of Rubble" uncovered an entire swag of old remains including a little Roman theater.
Exhuming work started, and today, this stop zone incorporates the leftovers of a Ptolemaic sanctuary and the mosaic deck of a rich Roman-time abiding now known as the Villa of the Birds.
Kom Al-Dikka was a well-off residential area in Graeco-Roman times, with lovely villas, bathhouses, and a theatre. The area was known at the time as the Park of Pan, a pleasure garden where citizens of Alexandria could indulge in ious lazy pursuits.
