Shillong - Cherrapunji 54 kms, 2 hrs After breakfast, set off for Cherrapunji, well known for receiving one of the highest rainfall in the world. Cherrapunjee is locally known as Sohra and is situated at a distance of 56 kms from Shillong. On the way is the Mawkdok Valley which is a very prominent sightseeing for tourists. Then on the way we visit the Nohsngithiang falls Seven sister falls which is known to be the symbol of the Unity of the Seven States of North East India. Then visit the Dainthlen Waterfalls, Natural rock carvings of the episode draw visitors to see the image of the Thlen, the symbol of greed, corruption and evil. Then visit the Wei Sawdong falls. The name Wei Sawdong implies a round lagoon. The clear waters cascades down into a beautiful three step lagoon. This falls is enclosed within a thicket of green forest. After that visit the Nohkalikai Falls which is the tallest plunge waterfall in India. Its height is 1115 feet 340 metres. Later than we visit the Mawsmai cave, a major crowd puller that leaves tourists spellbound. After trekking in the majestic cave we move for Eco Park, which hosts several hybrid and indigenous orchids. It also offers a breathtaking view of distant Sylhet Plains of neighboring Bangladesh. Double Decker Root Bridge Trek Double Decker Root Bridge, Maghalayas most famous root bridge can be found in the vicinity of the wettest place Cherrapunji. Today we will trek down to one of the miraculous place in Meghalaya, the Living Root Bridge. The bridge is situated downhill to the Village, Umshiang and can only be reached by walking down the hill. Though the journey to the bridge is exhausting but its worth it when you reach the place. It will take us 4-5 five hours to take round trip of the bridge. Then you can proceed to visit the natures beautiful creation called Rainbow Falls. It is a natural pool where one can swim. After the determined journey we will head back to our hotel.
