Dour is a Walloon municipality positioned within the Belgian province of Hainaut. On 1 January 2006 the municipality had 16,810 population. The general area is 33.32 km², giving a populace density of 505 inhabitants per km². The municipality consists of the following sub-municipalities: Dour right, Blaugies, Elouges, and Wiheries. Dour is frequently considered the western end of the sillon industriel, the former industrial spine of Wallonia. Since 1989 Dour has hosted the yearly Dour Festival, an opportunity music competition.
