About Schonbrunn Palace

Schonbrunn Palace was the main summer house of the Habsburg rulers, positioned in Hietzing, Vienna. The 1,441 room Baroque palace is one of the most important architectural, cultural, and ancient monuments within the united states of america. Since the mid 50s it has been a chief visitor appeal.

The records of the palace and its sizeable gardens spans over 300 years, reflecting the changing tastes, hobbies, and aspirations of successive Habsburg monarchs. In 1569, Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian II bought a big floodplain of the Wien river below a hill, located among Meidling and Hietzing, where a former proprietor, in 1548, had erected a mansion referred to as Katterburg. The emperor ordered the area to be fenced and positioned recreation there consisting of pheasants, geese, deer and boar, so as for it to function the courtroom's leisure searching floor. In a small separate part of the area, amazing birds inclusive of turkeys and peafowl have been saved. Fishponds were also constructed.
