About Burg Wiener Neustadt

Burg Wiener Neustadt is a castle in Wiener Neustadt, Lower Austria, Austria. Burg Wiener Neustadt is 268 metres above sea stage. The first castle in Wiener Neustadt become built in 1193–94, whilst at the same time, the metropolis partitions of Wiener Neustadt were built. The prices have been paid from the ransom of Richard the Lionheart. This citadel is said to have stood on the north-jap nook of the town, however there's no archaeological proof of this. When that castle became too small, however, the newer fort changed into built on the prevailing site by way of Leopold VI the Glorious at the beginning of the thirteenth century.

Since the location is pretty marshy, it became constructed on wood piles. Under Frederick II the Warlike it became in the end surrounded by means of a moat, outer walls and towers.
