About Alistair Knox Park

Alistair Knox Park is a park in Eltham, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, named after Alistair Knox, a famous local landscape architect who specialised in mud brick. The park is located on Main Road near the central Eltham shopping strip. The Eltham Library is positioned nearby. The youngsters playground is discovered inside the open and lightly wooded woodland. Facilities encompass an vintage timber playground, toilets, barbecues, a duck pond, and a sculpture.

A cute play region with play system dotted among gum timber. There are a number of massive wood carvings consisting of a large platypus, owl and large tree stump seat and lovely metal figures of human beings. The most important play shape has a curved slide, walkways, placing disks, rising step bridge, guidance wheel, tunnel, scrambling wall, keep front and monkey bars. There is also a spinning donut, track making system, birds nest swing and large own family sized see-saw.

Rocks to leap throughout. This is a adorable playground nestled underneath a stand of gum trees. The park itself is huge, with the playground sited near the carpark off Main Road. The playground is now highly outstanding since being upgraded in late 2013. Gracing the park are numerous stunning sculptures by using local artist Leigh Conkie: a 3m platypus, a first-rate lumpy throne and a beautiful owl all carved via chainsaw. Adding to the creative nature of the park are some of sound sculptures via Herbert Jercher.
