About Plaza Independencia
The Plaza Independencia is a urban space , situated in the city of Mendoza , Argentina . It is situated in the focal point of the city between Patricias Mendocinas, Chile, General Espejo and Rivadavia streets. After the quake that crushed the old city of Mendoza in 1861, the resulting remaking of a similar one responsible for the Engineer Julio Balloffet , took as a need to make spaces that filled in as assurance against new tremors.
In this manner with the new checkerboard format it incorporated the making of five new squares one focal and the other equidistant. Thusly, the present Plaza Independencia developed.
