1. Religious Tourism In Uttar Pradesh
Vinod Khanal latest report in leading daily Economic Times states that The Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation Limited (UPTDCL) plans to introduce aerial system passenger ropeway for the tourists visiting in large number in Ashtabhuja and Kalikoh temples of Vindhyachal located in Mirzapur and Lakshman Pahari located in Chitrakoot. Public private partnership (PPP) will be used for building the ropeways and this will help in boosting the percentage of religious visits in this state of Uttar Pradesh.
Chairman, UPTDCL, Sudip Ranjan Sen, in his last visit to the city for inspection of Triveni Darshan at Boat Club, clearly stated as every year there are some lakhs of tourists visiting the temples over here and other pilgrimage sites, so they have planned for promoting this tourism in these areas with development of infrastructure. Development process is already started and also bids invited from private players in this regard. INR: 20 Crore sanctioned by corporation for Ramghat renovation in Chitrakoot.
Besides infrastructure there is also plan to launch aerial sports as a tourist attracting feature in Kalinjar. Upgradation already proposed for 13 hotels of UPTDCL for adding new facilities. An amount of INR: 13 Crore sanctioned for facility addition in hotels plus for tourist packages for attracting tourists from overseas countries. Plan is also there to utilize 32 acre vacant plot at Fatehpur Sikri as a spot for recreation for foreign tourists as confirmed by Mt. Sudip Ranjan Sen.
