It is here the great Amazon River takes birth and continues down south. Surrounding the river is one of the largest rainforests on the world, the Amazon Forest. There are many tour operators who conduct guided tours into the deep forests of Amazons. There is also the option of staying in a lodge inside the Amazons which is more exciting and adventurous. Tourists generally have to choose from two options for their tour to Amazons. They can either enter the forest from Puerto Maldonado which is near Cuzco city or they can come from Iquitos in north. Wildlife is abundant in Amazons so there is not much difference from where you visit the forest. Manu Park in the south is more popular among the tourists as it is easy to travel in.
