The Cathedral of Merida is a standout amongst the loveliest chronicled structures; it is situated before Plaza Boli, on Avenue 4 between roads 22 and 23. It was worked in the vicinity of 1803 and 1960 after the outline of the Cathedral of Toledo in Spain. It has been named a minor Basilica by Pope John Paul II. Inside is the picture of the Virgin of the Apple, cut in stone in southern Germany amid the fourteenth century, and the remaining parts of St. Forebearing Martyr, gave by Pope Pius VI to the second Bishop of Mérida, Monsignor Cándido Terrijos in 1794 On the correct side of the Cathedral are the Archbishop's Palace and Arquidiósesano Museum, made in 1909, which you can not miss.
