PEZ Candy was concocted in Vienna, Austria by Eduard Haas IIII as an other option to smoking. The name PEZ originates from the German word for peppermint, "PfeffErminZ" taking the P from the main letter, E from the center and Z from the last letter to frame the word PEZ. In 1952, PEZ went to the United States. In 1973, PEZ assembles the primary confection producing office in Orange, CT.
