Key West lighthouse

The Key West lighthouse is situated in Key West, Florida. The principal Key West lighthouse was a 65-foot 20 m tower finished in 1825. The principal attendant, Michael Mabrity, kicked the bucket in 1832, and his dowager, Barbara, turned into the lighthouse guardian, serving for a long time. The Great Havana Hurricane of 1846 devastated the lighthouse; the USS Morris, which was destroyed amid the tempest, announced "a white sand shoreline covers the spot where Key West Lighthouse stood".
